Did you ever notice the correlation between suicide and Power Pop?
Badfinger, Material Issue's Jim Ellison, Richard Taylor (who wrote the hits for Gin Blossoms), the drummer in Crowded House. Great song, though.
Oops, I meant Doug Hopkins of the Gin Blossom. In short, major chords and close harmonies equals doom.
And let's not even talk about that sad sequence of events that would come to be know as the "Banana Splits Curse".
