The new year is a time for much talk of change playing out against a backdrop of little actual change. And let's admit it, that's the way we prefer it, right?
So when someone chooses this time of year to go about the business of actually altering our everyday landscape, even in the most barely perceptible of ways, it can be a little rankling -- even enough to have us reaching for our torches and hitting the streets like the simpleminded mob of bloodthirsty yokels that all our time spent on the internet has ultimately reduced us to. It's simply not the way that things are done.
So... Wait, what was I talking about again? Oh, yes: Keith has redesigned Teleport City. Burn him!
No, that's not what I meant to say at all. Look, the fact is that Keith has updated the look of Teleport City, making it, among other things, approximately 100% more Jenny Agutter intense than it was previously. Needless to say, it looks stunning. But he has also made more substantial changes. These include the reintegration of all of those non-film related features that had previously been removed for inclusion on the separate Jetset Tramp website.
This last is an especially exciting development as far as I'm concerned, because it means that Teleport City has once again returned to being a one-stop portal to all of your pressing lifestyle needs -- not only telling you what movies you need to watch, but also counseling you on every other essential aspect of your life, from (drinking to your) health, (pulp) literature, (what the young folks these days are calling) Music, and (mostly drinking related) travel and (as would follow, drunken) adventure. As a whole, it bodes very well for 2010.
Head on over and check it out, won't you?

And what a nice new look it is. Although I have to admit that the sudden appearance of a certain half-known homophobe racist SF writer in the Call of Cthulhu comment thread was rather frightening to me.
(sigh)i remember the crush i had on Jenny Agutter, thanx to Equus...
I love it!!!!! Hopefully he will see this and know it, because I didn't quite know where I should tell him that there.
House: Probably a result of the outreach program for homophobe racist SF writers that is also a part of the new Teleport City.
Prof: It's interesting. There was an obviously long-dormant part of my brain reserved for the thought "Jenny Agutter is H.O.T" that was reactivated only by the sight of her on the new TC banner.
Memsaab: I will make sure that the dark overlord sees your comments.
Thanks' y'all. I'll do my best to make sure a little Jenny Agutter gets into your life.
Our outreach program to homophobe racist sci-fi authors will continue to do the good work. Orson Scott Card, we're looking your way this year!
