Amid a national wave of self-recrimination, Americans corrected the grave mistake they made back in November and named
Slumdog Millionaire as their new president. This development comes on a day when millions of American husbands came home to the news that their wives were divorcing them to marry
Slumdog Millionaire. While
Slumdog Millionaire itself was unavailable for comment, Anil Kapoor could be seen jumping up and down and furiously trying to high five anyone within reach. As we eagerly await the Broadway stage version of
Slumdog Millionaire, the TV series
Dancing With the Slumdog Millionaire Stars, and, of course, Disney's
Bombay Slum Chihuahua, all of us here at 4DK would like to welcome the benevolent dictatorship of
Slumdog Millionaire. Hail,
Slumdog Millionaire!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! You should be writing for The Onion.
Ooh my verification word is primping. I am primping for Slumdog Millionaire!
I assumed this was from The Onion until I got to the end and realized it was Todd's own genius!
I just hope the Slumdog Millionaire Overlord doesn't mind me saying so.
Y'all are way too kind, as always. As a postscript: On Monday, Matt Lauer on the Today Show referred to Oscar night as "A big night for Bollywood." WTF?!
You'd think that the fact that most of the rewards were received by white British guys would clue them in to this not being a Bollywood production, but whatever. If it brings Amitabh one step closer to a movie with Jackie Chan and Jean Reno (that's a plan I have), I'll take what i can get.
That would be a mighty fine outcome, indeed. However, I'm woried that many viewers of Slumdog will conclude that something as awesome as 1970s Amitabh has to be a fantastic construct out of Danny Boyle's imagination, and not a real person. I mean, I couldn't say that I blame them. Personally, seeing scenes from Toofan projected onto the screen of a typical American multiplex theater provoked a sort of out-of-body experience for me.
Hopefully it goes without saying that I know "worried" has two "R"s in it.
I'm with Keith on this too, especially Amitabh and Jean Reno. How completely fabulous that would be!
