4DK Indexed

In another example of this blog's pitiful aspirations toward actual usefulness, I have finally created an index, with links, of all of the films that I've reviewed here over the past year and a half or so. Said index will from this point on be accessible via the link at the top of yon sidebar. This turned out to be more of a labor intensive process than I had anticipated, and I have to confess to becoming a bit cross-eyed at points. So, if any of you come upon any bad links or other errors, I'd lavishly appreciate your letting me know.

Also, please be advised that, in compiling this index, I used just about the broadest definition of "review" possible, as some of the linked posts are simply comprised of me putting up a few screen grabs and then linking to someone else's review. That's just the way I work sometimes. I'm not saying it's right.

Damnit, you've reminded me that I've got to do the same thing. That's going to be a bitch of a job.

I don't envy you the task of indexing all these pages - it calls to mind a time when I used to update everything by hand because I was too "hip" to use content management software. Needless to say those days are long gone.

Thanks for the work - now I can find your individual Sampote Sands reviews with ease!

I, too, bow before the power of your indexing.

Yay for indexing!!!! Especially when you have no search function :) (Is that a blogspot thing?)...

The nice thing about blogging is that you can make your own rules about what a review is or isn't. You have all the power, my friend.

Thanks, all. If there's anything to be learned from my example, it's to do this sooner than later -- as in, when you only have about twenty reviews on your site, rather than two-hundred.

Memsaab, I may be confused, but I'm pretty sure that I do have a search function on this blog. Unless you mean that other blogs have a function that enables them to help you find your car keys or reading glasses. I don't have that.

Don't worry, the worst part will be the upkeep of the index! Just wait until the time you've been too lazy to update it for three months and you have to go search your archive t try to find out where the cutoff point is!

Oh, I can imagine. BTW, Tars, I briefly considered following your lead and breaking my reviews up into categories like "Good", "Bad", and "Ugly". But so many of them would have fallen into that last category that it would have defeated the purpose.

What! No Lancelot Link!!!
Great work Todd!

I have NO IDEA what Tars Tarkas is talking about. Who would let their index languish in disrepair for months on end?

Oh. It was too obviously at the top of the screen. I never see the obvious.

:) Still, good job.
