Flying Saucer Rock and Roll - Part II

Huge thanks to my pal Beth over at Beth Loves Bollywood. In response to my mention -- in my Teleport City review of Trip To Moon -- of the "space-age themed go-go dancing numbers" in the Bollywood Martian invasion movie Wahan Ke Log, she popped on over to YouTube and found this fine example featuring the superlative Ms. Laxmi Chhaya. I can't imagine a better use for my 300th post on 4DK than to share it with you.

reminds me of the dancing Martian gurls from Santo Vs. The Martian Invasion but turned up to 11! and no, i can't think of anything intelligent to say, but i had to say something! their enthusiasm was...infectious.

This would indeed make a great double bill with Santo vs. The Martian Invasion, as would -- as Keith pointed out to me -- Trip To Moon. I think we'll just have to add La Nave de los Monstruos to the mix and make it a quadruple bill of hindi-mex Marian invasion movies.

I so love this musical number!!! And I so love that movie!!

Beth, the number's not all that impressive if you consider that many of those posts were things like this.

And Mike, would you agree with me that this is the Bollywood film most in need of an English subbed DVD release? Some day...

Michael was kind enough to send this to me. And it does need subtitles, desperately.

And also: Laxmi rules over everything, except Helen---and even that is a pretty close call.
