Everybody's got something to hide except for Sunil Dutt and his monkey
The 1974 Bollywood film Geetaa Mera Naam is one wild little masala. If you're not sure whether you want to invest your time in reading my full review of it over at Teleport City, perhaps you'd like to watch a clip?

PLEASE NOTE: I do not sell, trade, upload or otherwise provide copies of the films that I review on this site, so please don’t ask.
Please, no questions about where to download films or subtitle files. If you are asking about the availability of a reviewed film on DVD, please make sure that you have first conducted a simple search of the film’s title on Google, eBay, and Amazon. That usually works for me.
Everyone else, BRING IT ON!

Pardon my French, but the 1st thing that came to mind was WTF ! (Actually I had to say this a few more times as the clip progressed).
ReplyDeleteWhat an actor Feroz Khan is showing
his anguish as Sadhana is whipped.
She may have been an icon in the '60's, but I'm sad to say here she was definitely past her sell by date.
As for Helen & that other dancer, lost for words ...
Great Blog, love your reviews.

Thanks, Gagan! Yeah, "WTF" is sort of the unofficial alternate title of Geeta Mera Naam. It really never gives your brain a rest.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the guy dancing with Helen shows his kids what he got up to in the '70's !
ReplyDeleteNowadays I know lots of Bollywood directors etc. are 'inspired' by Hollywood movies & have ready access to them via DVD, video etc., but in those days I wonder how they managed to latch on so quickly. Was there a black market going on on scripts ?
